Welsh Lamb carries an EU seal of quality, having been awarded Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) status. The seal of quality identifies selected regional food products which have one specific quality, or combination of characteristics, attributable to their respective region.
To heighten consumer awareness of the quality seal, the European Union is currently giving support to the communication activities of selected products which bear this seal - for example, to Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) – Meat Promotion Wales, the industry-led organisation responsible for the development, promotion and marketing of Welsh red meat.
The British agency Golley Slater, member of ICOM, the leading network of independent communication agencies was able to secure the budget for this project and appointed move communications as their partner in Germany.
Part of the campaign is B2B and B2C PR activities as well as selective ads in trade and special interest media.
